Bowling

PUKEOEA SANATORIUM CLUB OFFICIAL OPENING HELD. Before a large attendance of players and friends, on Saturday afternoon, the official opening of the Pukeora Sanatorium Bowling Club took place. Dr. R. Francis, medical superintendent, extended a very cordial welcome to the visitors, whilst the various skippers of the different, rinks responded suitably. A dainty afternoon tea was provided by the Matron and members of the nursing staff, and in all an enjoyable afternoon’s sport was experienced, the greens being in splendid playing order. Results were as follows: —

Rood, Townsend, Richards, Cook (Waipukurau), 20; Lawrence, Williamson, Buist, Bartry, (Waipukurau), 13. Schroder, Turner, Cutforth, Laurie, (Waipukurau) 27; Shove, Booth, Henry, Watson, (Sanatorium), 22. Elliott, Kin|ghom,| Brown, Burgess (Waipukurau), 23, Blutts, O’Brien, Inkpin, Callaghan (Sanatorium), 17.

WAIPUKURAU CLUB.

ONE RINK PLAYED. Owing to the unsettled weather conditions and the fact that most of the members were present at the Sanatorium green’s opening, only one rink was played on the Waipukurau green on Saturday the result of which was as follows: —Hutton, Skidmore, Cowper, Foot, 18; Stubbs, Simmonds, Curd, Hepburn, 15.
