THE WAIPUKURAU SALE PASSINGS FREQUENT FOR FAT CATTLE. There was a good attendance of buyers ar the wtclly stock sale, held at the Waipukurau yards yesterday, though the bidding throughout was not very active. Fat cattle were yarded in large numbers, and though several good lots came forward, they failed to realise the vendors’ prices. Passings in this section were the order, rather than the exception, this being due probably. to the continued absence of sufficient nourishing feed, or to the price required being too high. Store cattle met a fairly responsive demand at satisfactory prices, though in this instance too, several lots were passed in. Dairy cattle had sonic good quality entries and prices for these remained about on a par. The sheep entry totalled about six pens, comprising chiefly fats, and for these a better demand prevailed. Values were: — Fat Cattle Five well conditioned P.A. cows wtre passed in at £7 10/-; 4 P.A. cows, (not as well covered as the first line) passed at £6 10/-; 7 P.A. and Hereford cross bullocks, a good weighty lot were passed at £l2 10/-; 5 medium quality P.A. cows £6 5/- passed in; 3 prime P. A. and Hereford cross bullocks, guaranteed, passed at £l2 10/-; 1 ditto passed in; 7 light prime well finished P.A. bullocks, were passed at £l3 10/-; 4 P.A. cows light quality, passed at £6 5/-: 2 Ayrshire cross cows passed in at £4; 5 P.A. cows, a good line, passed at £7 2/6. Store Cattle Thirty-six IS months to 2 year P.A. weaner steers, good quality, were sold at £4 15/-; 32 P.A. steers 2 year-olds passed in at £6 12/6; 17 P.A. weaner heifers, a good quality lot, sold out at £3 16/-; 1 P.A. cross heifer from the previous line realised £2 10/-; 13 18- | months’ P.A. weaner steers £4 15/-; 2 small weaner heifers passed at £2; 1 small Hereford steer 10/-; 10 P.A. and Holstein cross weaner heifers £2 3/6; 6 light steers, mixed breeds, passed at £4 7/-; 10 P.A. and Hereford cross« steers £7 5/- passed in; 15 Hereford steers £6 10/- passed; 2 P.A. steers and 1 heifer, small in stature, were sold for £2; 1 Jersey cross heifer, light, £1 17/6. Five Jersey heifers, in calf to purebred Jersey bull, £4 7/6; 6 Jersey cross cows, running with purebred Jersey bull. £3 7/-; 1 Jersey cow £5 10/- passed; 1 Jersey heifer in calf, passed at £fj 10/-, £7 wanted; 1 Jersey cross heifer £1 5/-; and 1 ditto £2; 1 springing Jersey heifer £6 10/-; 1 Jersey cow £7; 1 Jersey heifer £3 10/-; 1 Jersey cow passed at £4 5/-; 1 Jersey heifer in calf, £4; 1 second calver Jersey cow, sound and quiet, £10; 1 ditto £9 10/-; 1 low conditioned Holstein, calf at foot, £4 12/6; 1 springing Jersey heifer £7; 1 Jersey cross cow £2 5/-; I Jersey cross cow, good quality, £7 5/-; 2 Jersey cows passed at £* and £6; 1 Jersey bull £4 10/-. Fat Sheep A line of medium to good quality fat ewes, 39 in all, made 22/-; 6 fat wethers good useful sheep, realised 24/-; 18 fat ewes were passed in at 17/-; 34 2-th ewes sold at £l.
