OBITUARY
MRS. M. A. O’REILLY. A very old identity of the Waipawa district has passed away in the person of Mrs M. A. O’Reilly, relic of the late Mr Cornelius O’Reilly, who died at her residence, Waipawa, yesterday morning. Deceased had been ailing for a long time, and her end, which came peacefully, was not unexpected. With her husband and young family, the late Mrs O’Reilly came to Waipawa 43 years ago, where her husband, who predeceased her many years ago, commenced business and continued it till his death. His widow carried on the business for many years afterwards. Of strong personality, impulsive and kind-hearted, she was ever ready with a smile and. a cheery word, and had earned the affectionate esteem of all. Her family was devoted to her, and during her long illness she had every care lavished upon her. She leaves a grown-up family of three sons and three daughters and many grand-children. The community’s sympathy is extended to the daughters—Mrs S. McGreevy (Wellington), Misses K. and A. E, O’Reilly (Waipawa)—and the sons —Messrs Dam O’Reilly (Wellington), John O’Reilly (Porangahau), and Walter O’Reilly (Palmerston North). The funeral will take place to-morrow afternoon.
