IN MISSISSIPPI BASIN.

NEW YORK, April 20.

The toll of life and destruction of property by storms and floods in the Mississippi basin and the South and Central States, continues unabated. Seventy-five persons are now dead, 800 injured, and 30,000 homeless. The minimum property damage is 25,000,--000 dollars. Over 20,000,000 acres of the most fertile farm land in America, including some of the best cotton areas, are under water.
