FIRE BRIGADE. MONTHLY MEETING. 1 : .- ' At the. usual monthly meeting of the Fire Brigade, Superintendent J. A. Chambers presiding, correspondence was received from the U.F.B.A. and the U.D.F.8.A., in regard to the demonstration at Petonc, and was “received.” . x Foreman Annand reported having collected the sum of over £l7 towards the expenses of sending the firemen to compete-at the Petonc demonstration. The Superintendent thanked the collector, on behalf of the Brigade, and it was decided to publicly thank all those who had contributed to the fund.
. Sub-Superintendent Richards presented Supterintendcnt Chambers with a two years silver bar, making 15 years service.
Superintendent Chambers suitably acknowledged the presentation. The team to go to Petonc is:— Superintendent Chambers, Foreman Annand, Firemen Rowlands, Schcrf, Woodward, Watson. ’ and Whelsh.
The team has since won the'. War Memorial Shield (three-men union), being the second success in this event.
