MURDER CHARGE

GISBORNE TRAGEDY. FREEZING WORKER ARRESTED. GISBORNE, To-Day. Arising out of the death of Robert Thelwall, found unconscious on the pavement outside the Record Reign Hotel last evening, Garnet Wolseley McMinn, a' freezing works employee, has been arrested on a charge of murder. It is alleged that deceased was struck by McMinn. Later. An inquest opened this morning. Formal evidence of identification was given after which the inquest was adjourned. Sebsequently McMinn was charged at the Police Court with murdering Thelwall. The police asked for a remand till January 6, which was granted, bail being alowed in two sureties of £250 each.
