WAIPUKURAU WIN SECTION “E.” The last round in the section play for the District Shield competition was completed on Saturday, under ideal weather conditions. In the “A” section, Hastings defeated Napier, thus becoming the undefeated winners of the section. Bort Ahuriri went under to Waircre, thus becoming the “wooden spoon” team, in the competition, while St. Leonards beat Waipawa in the “B” section. Ahuriri went under to Waircre, thus becoming- the “wooden spoon” team in the competition, while St. Leonards beat Waipawa in the section. WAIPUKURAU v. KIA TOA. In the District Shield competition, Waipukurau defeated Kia Toa, on Saturday, in the aggregate, by 27 points. This places Waipukurau winners of thq “B” section, without a loss. The results arc as follow, the Waipukurau rinks being mentioned first: — At Waipukurau. Haldane 22, Gray 10. Hall 16, Bird 21. At Kia Toa. D'Anvers 32; Lincoln 19. Moore 22, Harris 17. The Waipukurau rinks were constituted as/ follows: — Bowen, Gardner, Patterson, and Hall (s). Chatwin, Johnstone; Richards, and Haldane (s). Kirby, Portas, Martin, and- Moore (s). White, Saunders, Cook, and D’Anvers (s). On Saturday tiie final Shield 'match will be played, when two Waipukurau rinks journey to Hastings and two play 'on. the home green.
