WEDDING BELLS.

GORDON—PETHERICK. The marriage was cclebated in St. Mary's Church, Waipukurau on Saturday of Miss Norma Pcthcrick elder daughter of Mr Albert Pcthcrick, a well-known local resident, and Mr John Gordon, younger son of Mr and Mrs Gordon, of Napier, the bridegroom being a member of the Telegraph staff, Napier, and formerly Wai-. pukurau. The ceremony was performed by the Rev Canon E. D. Rice, in the prescnece of a large assemblage of guests and the public. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a dress of brocaded crepe de chine, wearing a coronet of orange blossoms, and the orthodox veil, and carrying a shower bouquet. She. was attended by her sister, Miss Dora Pctherick, wearing a pink satin charmcusc frock, and Miss Kathleen Gordon, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a similar dress, both with hats to match. Little Miss Audrey Taylor acted as flower girl, looking beautiful in blue crepe-de-cheno, and trellis cap of blue ribbon, and small forget-me-not trimming. All wore gold armlets the gift of the bridegroom. The best man was Mr James Gordon, of Napier, cousin of the bridegroom. Mr Fred Webb, of Hastings, was groomsman, and provided the bouquets for the occasion. After the ceremony the guests were hospitably entertained at a delightful breakfast at the home of the bride’s father,' Racecourse Road, and the usual congratulatory toasts were honoured. The bridal couple left in the North express. on their honeymoon, the bride’s costume being of navy blue, with hat and shoes to tone. In the evening a dance whs held on the lawn at the home of Mri and Mrs Petherick.senr., being attended by about 70 cuples. This concluded at midnight by the singing of “Auld LangSync,” having been a very enjoyable function.
