On the motion of Mr L. M. Monckton Mr R. B. Price was appointed overseer to the Mount Herbert Domain Board, at its monthly meeting on Saturday. During the absence of Nurse Rood, on holiday leave, for a month, Nurse Bcgbie is carrying out the duties in connection with the Dental Clinic. Miss M. E. MacDonald, M.Sc.. has. been appointed by the Hawke’s Bay Education Board to the position of secondary assistant at Waipawa. We arc pleased to report that Mr H. V. Hodgkinson, who was an inmate of the Hospital for about a month of late is now able to resume his usual occupation as a motor taxi proprietor. Mr P. Bridgeman, a popular member of the motoi - staff of the Waipukurau County Council, and best known, as captain of the Waipukurau Football Club 's senior team, who has been in the Hospital of late, is making .good progress towards, recovery. The many friends of Mrs Sarah Ann. Doherty, wifo' of Mr Thos. Doherty, a well-known resident and member of the staff of the Hawke ’s Bay Farmers’ Cooperative Association will learn with regret of her death having occurred last night in the Waipukurau Hospital. The deceased lady was 68 years of age. The funeral obsequies are to take place to-morrow, the cortege leaving the Hospital at 3 p.m. Much sympathy will be felt for Mr Doherty in his great loss, also with members of the family circle including Mr J.. Mcßride, a son of the deceased lady, and Mr B. Waters, Lindsay settlement, who is a brother.
