MONTHLY MEETING. _ CORRESPONDENCE INWARD. EIRE RISKS. Additional to the business recorded in our issue of Wednesday the following matters received consideration at the monthly meeting of the Waipawa Hospital B o ard: — State Fire Office as to the adjustment of insurance policies . The chairman said that the cover would total £20,700, with £6B 15/6 as the premium. The object of consolidation was to make the whole of the risks payable on. one date. Mr Goodger held that the covers should be kept at a low figure in view of the .favourable risk factors.. The chairman moved and Mr White seconded a motion in favour of the consolidating proposal outlined. This Was carried. The chairman said the building would cost over £70,000 to replace. NATIONAL PROVIDENT FUND. A formal resolution was passed as required by the National Provident Fund authorities in regard to the superannuation scheme, Mr Monckton proposing and Mr Witherow seconding. QUESTION OF DOMICILE. Danncvirke Board in regard to the treatment of a local patient, which would be a charge upon the Waipukurau Board. The Pukeora Sanatorium was being closed to women patients. The secretary said that the home of this patient (a minor) is in the Danncvirke district, and the fees had in the past been guaranteed by the Danncvirke Board. The matter was left in the hands of the secretary who held that the domicile of a minor was that of his or her parents. GENERAL MATTERS. Hawke’s Bay Board apropos the' management of Park island Home, and advising approval of the proposal as -to a renewal of the present agreement. — Received. District Engineer, Public Works’ Department in regard to the nurses’ Home contract, referring to various details in connection with, the undert a kin g.—R e eei vo <l. Government Architect in the same connection. —This letter was also received. Director-General of Health advising that the matter of providing an observation and isolation ward at the Rathbone Maternity Hospial would receive c< nsidcration. —Received. Central Hawke’s Bay Power Board, as to the scale of charges for current. —Received. Same, explaining the position in regard to the Rathbone Hospital meter. The chairman said that the new meter would show a remarkable discrepancy in the record of consumption. ASSISTANCE AT OPERATIONS The question of local medicos attending at the hospital occupied the board’s attention for some time, it being decided finally that the matter of paying for assistance al operations should be deferred till the end of the current year, and that 'the doctors concerned 'be asked to continue the present arrangement for rendering honorary assistance until that time. .
