A party of members from Loyal Tavistock Lodge of Manchester Oddfellows, motored to Hastings on Thursday evening to attend the inaugural meeting of the Hastings Juvenile Lodge which was held in the- Lodge room of Loyal Lodge. Great interest has been shown in this, the first juvenile lodge, to be opened in .Hawke ’« Bay. Visitors were present, from ev< ry Lodge in the H.B. district. The initiation of about 60 juveniles was performed by members of the District Exccutix e, Prov. G.AI. Bro. Stein presiding. The forming the Lodge marks as important step in the-, advancement of the Afanchester Oddfellows’ Order. Eulogistic remarks were passed in commendation of the movement, and also in appreciation of the efforts of the promoters in its formation. Ar. the conclusion of the meeting an adjournment was tmade to the supper room where refreshments were dispensed by lady members of the Hastings Lodge.
