— TO KILL EARWIGS. LONDON, Dec. 5. The entonioiogist 7 Dr. R .J. Tiltyard, of the Cawthron Institute, sailed by the Corinthic. taking with him 250 parasites of earwigs intended to destroy earwigs in New Zealand, The parasite were scarce during the present wear, necessitating Dr. Tillyard searchthroughout Europe. They cost a shilling each. He is qlso taking several kinds of insects with which it is hoped to destroy blackberry and brambles. Before they are liberated they will bt* tested to ascertain their effect on otlmr plants.
