SENSATIONAL LEAP.

INTERRUPTED THIEF.

CHRISTCHURCH, January 8,

A sensational leap from a third story window of the Dominion Hotel was made by a man who was interrupted while going through the bedrooms at 6 o’clock to-night.

When accosted by the licensee he raised a window and jumped, landing on his hands and knees on a grass plot. To the surprise of his pursuers he got to his feet and made off, but was captured by detectives.

When examined at the Police Station he was bleeding at the face but had no other sign of injury. About. £4 was missing from the hotel rooms. The man was sent to hospital, and later will appear at the court on a theft charge.
