LOCAL AFFAIRS
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. EXECUTIVE MEETING. The Executive of the Waipukurau Chamber of Commerce met on Wednesday night, there' being present: Messrs A. J. Kcrse (president), R. W. Carpenter (vice - president), J. Warren J. J. East, J. E. Hall, T. Given, and W. Lourie. The revision of the rules was completed, and the result be submitted for the Chamber’s consideration at die next general meeting. The President reported that good progress had been made as to promoting the establishment of a rural delivery from Waipukurau to Hatuma, Marakckc, Flemington, and Wanstead, and he was hopeful as to the success of the effort; He also stated that in connection with the New Zealand Exhibition, photographs of local and district community, advertising value, had been obtained and forwarded to the authorities. A suggestion brought forward by the President as to the appointment of a Holidays Committee is to be discussed at the next general meeting.
It has been arranged that, in view of the Chamber not being able to be directly represented at the annual conference of Associated Chambers, the Napier Chamber’s delegate be the proxy for Waipukurau.
