OPERATIC SOCIETY.

rehearsals to commence.

The committee of the Operatic Society met last week and decidea mat rehearsals for the Society’s next production, "The Mikado," would commence on Monday, November 9th. A provisional cast was drawn up, and Is as follows:—Mikado ( ; Emperor of Japan), Mr F.,V. Ward; Nanki-poo (his son), Mr J. Boyce; Ko-Ko (Lord High Executioner), Mr C. F. Smedley; Pooh-bah (Lord-High-Everything-Else), Mr E. Haldane; Pish-Tush, Mr J. Hindman; Yum-Yum. Mrs Spackman; PittiSing, Miss M. Polhill; Peep-Bo (not filled); Katisha (an Elderly Lady), Miss C. Grosvenor.

Copies of the vocal score can be obtained from Mr H. N. Murray at 8/6 each. All active members arc urged to procure their copies as early as possible, so that they will have, a knowledge of the opera when rehearsals commence.
