WISCONSIN CLERGYMAN.
PROHIBITION MAKES A MESS,” SAY PROHIBITIONISTS.
The Rev. J. P. Agcna, superintendent, Wisconsin Anti-Saloon League, a Prohibitionist through and through, made the following significant admission in the “Now York Times” on March 29 th this year:—“ Prohibition enforcement in Wisconsin is a farce. Prohibition officials elected to enforce the law are not doing all in ’their power to enforce it. We need an investigation to clear up the mess.” To clear up the mess! What sort of law is it which makes such a "mess”? Do you want that sort of legislation in New Zealand? Surely it is better to stick to a clean system of control, to adhere to laws which can be respected? > (Published by arrangement.)
