YESTERDAY’S RACES.
WAIPAWA MEETING.
The Waipawa County Racing Club’s Annual Meeting was held yesterday, when there was a record, attendance. The rain, which commenced to fall in he early part of the afternoon, together wit h a cold wind that blew across the course, spoilt what would have been in every respect a record day for the Club. The totalisator handled £12,398, as against £13,076 for last year, a decrease of £678. Following are the results:— Maiden Plate, of 65 sovs; 5 furlongs. —1 Mrs S. Hutchinson’s. Royal Damon, 8.8 (D. Cotton), 1; 7 Logic, 8.9, 2; 3 Carringalien, 8.10,-3. Jumpers’ Flat Race, of 120 sovs; li miles. —8 O. Krogh’s Blue Star, 9.0 (H. Griffiths),. 1; 6 Suspicion, 10.6, 2; 9 Demagogue, 11.3, 3. - Waipawa County Handicap, of 200 sovs; 1 mile. —1. M. Thomas’ Tari, 7.7 (F. McHugh), and 4 Maloney and Robertson’s Malatour, 7.0 (J. Dunn), dead heat, 1; 5 Crown Gem, 7.0, 3. Welter Hack Handicap, of 85 sovs; 7 furlongs.—7 Mrs A. Gilmore’s Tongatotoa, 7.12 (G. Morrison), 1; 8 Crishna, 8.6, 2; 3 Velvet King,, 8.8, 3. Brady’s Merekara, 7.0 (F. McHugh), 1; 4 Purseproud, 8.6 2; 3 Crishna, 8.4, 3. WELLLINGTON MEETING. WELLLINGTON, Monday. The Wellington Spring Meeting was concluded at Trentham. Though i't did not actually rain, a cold wind and light misty showers were enough to make the day an unpleasant one. For the meeting the totalisator was down £l5O. To day the machine handled £72,284 10s, compared with £73,885 on the corresponding day last year. The total for the meeting was £119,070, against £119,220 last year. Resultst- —
