AUCKLAND MAN FINED £l. TOOK JOURNALS TO SEE RAGE RESULTS. (Special to “Press”.) AUCKLAND, This day. During the last few days S. Barclay has m 'ssed his paper every morning, and so a watch was set, with the result that James Arthur Reid (44) was caught in the act of stealing the morning journal. Ho pleaded guilty to two charges of stealing papers valued at fourpenco. He stated that he- only borrowed the papers to read the results of the races. The Chief Detective stated that accused had a Hist of convictions, and was a parasite. On each charge Reid was fined £1 or seven days.
