NEW THEATRE.

OPENING ON MAY 30, DECISION OF BOROUGH COUNCIL. OFFICIAL OPENING IN AFTERNOON. “There is every reason to believe that the Theatre will be ready for occupation in three ■weeks’ time.” This statement was made: by His Worship the Mayor (Mr E, A. Goodger) at the spec al meeting of the Borough Council to-day. The Mayor stated, however, that they did not wish to fix a too early date and after consulting the contractors they were going to make arrangements to open the Theatre on May 30th. The official opening is to take place in the afternoon, in the Theatre. Final arrangements have been left to the Theatre committee.
