WAIPUKURAU AT XMAS.
GREAT SHOPPING FACILITIES. 'FINE GOODS BEAUTIFULLY DIS. PLAYED. Only one thought can strike one on a walk along the Main Street—that in the selection of goods it has to offer, that in the quality of the materials it provides, and that in the range of its prevailing prices, Waipukurau stands equal to any other Hawke’s Baytown as a shopping centre for Christmas. With its windows gTiily decorated and with all its goods enticingly displayed every shop in the town is doing its best to cater for the needs of its people and for the requirements of the wide district all around and there can be no doubt that the Christmas shop, ping opportunities current in the town are astounding to a\cbgree. Some of the window decoration schemes in the town would do credit to one of the four’ centres, and as the Chamber of Commerce are providing decorative greenery for the Main .Street and the Borough Council arc electrically lighting our chief thorough, fare Christmas Eve in Waipukurau should be one gay carnival shoppingtime. The slogan “Shop in Waipukurau— The Busy Centre’’ is more than justified, by the business people themselves.
