Hides and Tallow. Dalgety and Co., Ltd , Palmerston North, report holding their hide atad tallow sale on Oct. 16. finder the new regulations gazetted tanners have the right to select all the calf skins and 50 per cent of all grades of hides. We offered a very large catalogue to the buyers ; full advantage of the new regulations being taken by the tanners, who took most of the hides and ail calf skins submitted except a few slippy, the latter realising 6|d above the schedule rate for the best calf. We quote;—Heavy ox, 12|d to 19d ; medium ox, 11- dto 18-y-d ; light ox, 10jd to 21-. d ; medium cows, 20-H to 22|d ; light heifers, 20d to 24d; cut, slippy and inferior, 16d to ISd ; yearlings, lid to 32|d: calf, 11 to 161bs, ll|d to to 33-d ; best calf, lOlbs and under, all taken by the tanners; calf' slippy, to 30s ; tallow in casks. 58s to 60s per cwt; in tins, 55s per cwt; horse hair, 18-gd per lb.
