THE ENDLESS UNIVERSE

Lid Eternal life Mr Clement Wrap’s lecture on Wednesday evening in the Alexandra Hall.was disappointing so far as attendance was concernad, but extremely interesting from the scientific standpoint. Mr Wragge by means of numerous illustrations thrown on the screen, and by co,pious explanation, took List audience through the wonders of the boavens, showing stars as they appear to the naked eye, and heavenly bodies as viewed through the - great telescope of the Lick Observatory. These marvellows works testified unmistakably tq the existence of a great creator, an Alm'ghty ' God, and man, and the world upon which lie lives, are but puny, inBignidcaiit objects in comparison with the marvels of creation dealt '“with. Creation was going on all the time, as shown by the formation of new snns constantly being evolved from the Milky Way, afad eternal life beyond the grave was indicated } onr present bodies being merely the shells which contained ns in the present stage of existence. Mr Wragge dealt exhaustively with, subject, and held the attention of his audience closely throughout a lengthy discourse. Prior to the lecture various illustrations were thrown on the ’screen, showing the tropical vegetation on Mr Wragge’s property at Birkenhead, where palms and bananas grow profusely.
