TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS

The following are the train arrangements now in force Napier Line, arrive. From Napier—l2.4o pm (mail train stops at no flag stations except Farndon, Tomoana, Pnkehou, Hatuma and Matamau), 1.25 pm and 9.45 pm. FromjWaipukurau —9.51 am and 6.35 pm. DEPART. For Napier—B.6 am, 2.7 pm (mail train, stops at no flag stations except Mataman, Hatuma and Pukehou; stops at Makotukn only if required, and stops at Poukawa and Pakipaki only to set down passengers from south of Woodville), and 2.45 pm. For Waipukurau—6.l3 am and 6.0 pm Manawatd Line, arrive. Fro Wellington—l.s9 pm (mail train, leaves at 9.8 am, and stops at no flag stations except Paremata, Plimmerton, Paraparamu and Manakau), 5.52 pm (local train connecting at Palmerston with express to Auckland from Wellington). Passengers can also leave Wellington by the night express at 9.10 (arriving in Palmerston at 12.16 am) and coming on by the morning trains. From Paekakariki (changing at Palmerston) —12.34 pm. DEPART. For Wellington—lo am (connecting with express from Auckland at Palmerston, and arriving in Wellington at 2.40 pm), 12.59 pm (mail train, stops at no flag stations except Waekanae, Manakau, Paraparaumu and Paremata; stops at Longburn only if required), 2.15 pm (connects at Palmerston with mail train from New Plymouth, which stops at no flag stations except Koputaroa, Linton, Te Horo and Plimmerton, and at Longburn only when required), and 9.57 pm (connecting with express from Auckland at Palmerston at 3.19 am), arr Wellington 6.26 a m. For Paekakariki—The 10 am train connects with a slow train at Palmerston, but for all stations beyond Otaki this is beaten by the mail train. Auckland Line, arrive. Prom Auckland —12.34 p m (connecting at Palmerston with the express leaving Auckland at 8.50 the previous evening). The morning trains from Palmerston (arriving at 5.55 and 8.1 a m) connects with the express leaving Auckland at 12.40 p m on the previous day and arriving at Palmerston at 3.19 a m, but involve a wait of some hours there. From Thames and Rotorua, the same trains. DEPART. For Auckland—2.ls p m (connecting with the express to Auckland at Palmerston, and arriving there at 6.43 next morning) and 9.57 p m (connecting with the Auckland express in Palmerston at 12 26 a m, and arriving at Auckland at 2.55 p m next day). For Thames and Rotoua, the same trains.

N.B. —The express trains stop at very few stations, and passengers for wayside places will need to consult the time-tables to find oat how they can best reach their special destinations. N.B.—For those who desire to avoid the long night runs to or from Auckland, the best method to adopt would be to’travel by the expresses leaving Auckland or Wellington in the day time and stop at Ohakune for the night, going on by the trains passing that place next morning. New Plymouth Line. ARRIVE. From New Plymouth—s.s2 p m (connects at Palmerston with the mft.il train, which stops at very few flag stations). From Wanganui (connects with the morning train from Wanganui at Palmerston), and 5.52 p m. [depart. For New Plymouth —lO am (connects at Palmerston with the mail train, which stops at very few flag stations). For Wanganui—lo a m and 2.15 p m. Palmerston N. Line. ARRIVE 5.55 and 8.1 am, 12.34, 1 1.59 (does not stop at Gorge), 5.52 and 6.40 p m. DEPART 10.0, 11.25 a m, 12.59 (does not stop at the Gorge), 2.15, 6.55 and 9.57 p m. W air A rap a Line. [ARRIVE. From Wellington (leaves Wellington at 7.50 a m and stops at almost all intermediate stations) and 9.10 p m (leaves Wellington at 9.55 a m). From Cross Creek —12.50 p m £bXid p hi.
