BARTON’S CIRCUS.

Barton Bros.’ new circus will appear in Woodville on Wednesday, September 29th. Quite a host of artists have just arrived by s.s. Manuka and Ulimaroa to further strengthen Mr Barton’s already huge combination. Shand and Sband, comedy . acrobats, are among the new arrivals. They come with the very best of credentials as artists with great reputations ; also the three Dentines, amazing and sensational aerialists, who perform some death-defying feats. This team is without doubt the limit of sensationalism. Mr Moe Arons, direct from St. Leoa’s United States circus, and Alvino, the funniest of all clowns, arrived , together. Alicia, a skilled lady juggler, and Miss Katie Montgomery, the acknowledged lady champion rider, were among the ladies who made their first appearance with Mr Barton. A nether great attraction for this tour is “ Cocoa and Chico,” the human chimpanzees. This remarkable team has been engaged by spe- ' cial arrangements with Messrs John Fuller and Sons. There will also appear a number of our old favor- ■ ites, including Miss Ethel Ashton, the clever and versatile performer ; ' Mr Roy Barton, the premier bare--1 back rider ; Gardiner and Le Mar, champion ju-jitsu experts: and Mr Tommy James, New Zealand’s champion buck - jumping rider; with the full complement of trained horses, educated mules, dogs and monkeys.
