Alien, Minister for Defence, announced the following appointments to the staff of the Expeditionary Force : Major-General Godley, in Command ; General Staff Officr, Colonel Braithwaite; Assistant AdjutantGeneral, Colonel Chaytor; Commanding Officer Mounted Rifles, Colonel Russell; Brigade Major, Captain Powles ; Commanding Field Artillery, Lieut. - Colonel G. N. Johnston ; Commanding Divisional Signalling Company, Captain Edwards; Commanding Infantry Brigade, Colonel F. E. Johnston.
