All Athletic Events will be run under the Rules of the New Zealand Athletic Union. Nominations, with requisite amount of fees for events numbered 2,3, 4,6, 7, 9, 12 and 13, must ho in the hands of tire secretary not later than SATURDAY, MARCH 6tji, together with record of performances at the last three meetings, giving details of handicaps allowed and the name of scratch man. All other events are post entry except the Maiden Hunters’ Competition. The prizes at this meeting will he awarded subject to the list of performances being strictly accurate. In all running events competitors must he attired in suitable costumes, vi/.., jersey sleeved to elbow and loose drawers or trunks. Three starters or no second prize. All events except Nos. 3 and 5 open to all comers. No. 3 is open to members only who live within a radius of four miles of the ground. The attention of competitors for Athletic Events is drawn to Rule 15 of Constitution and 13 of Regulations. All acceptances are free, handicaps will be declared as soon as possible after closing of entries. The handieappers reserve the right to rc-handicap any competitor winning an event after the handicaps are declared. Protests must be put in writing, and handed to the secretary within 15 minutes after disputed events, accompanied with a fee of ss, which will be forfeited should the protest be deemed frivolous. When an event is contested in more than two preliminary heats the first and second shall run in the final. If an event is contested in two preliminary heats, the first, second, and third shall run in the .final. The Committee wish it to be distinctly understood that they will take no responsibility in ease of any accidents to competitors. The Committee do not bind themselves to run the events fn the order enumerated above. The Engine Brass Band will play selections during the day. Refreshment booth on the ground.
