STOCK SALES. Messrs Abraham and Williams reports as follows: —At Woodville on Monday we had a full yarding of cattle, which (met a dragging sale, notwithstanding a large attendance of the public. Sheep were represented by one small pen of ewes and wethers. A line of “200 2-toofhs failed to put in an appearance. ulthongh buyers were present from a dist nee, who came specially for them. Quotations :—Four year bullocks in good condition, £5 2s ; yearling steers (good), £2 10s; empty cows, 35s to ±2 8s; forward ewes and wethers, lls 8J ; store pigs, 20s G.l to 22a 6d. Messrs Abraham & Williams, Ltd., report;—At Palmerston on Thursday only asm-ill yarding of cattle came forward. Bidding was dull at auction, but most of the stock change 1 hands privately at prices rather in ftvonr of the purchasers. Porkers 2os to 38s, light haconers 40s to 465, heavy 47s to 52--, choppers up to 60s. WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. Wellington, Jan. 11. At to-day’s wool sales 9400 bales were catalogued. Bidding was extremely spirited, and there was an advance of about a penny all round. Lambs’ wool sold up to for good qualities. The range of prices for half-bred was lOd to ium crossbred 9.J-d to lOld; coarse crossbred 9d to Odd; inferior and log stained B£d to 94 ; pieces and bellies Od to 8kl; locks 3d to 4 ; Jd ; good lambs’ 94d to IOAd ; medium 8.4 d to9-kl.
