THE QUALITY OF BREAD.
[to the editor.]
Sir,—Can you inform me whether all your readers are being supplied with the same quality of bread that I am. l£ they are, I wonder we are such a peaceful commuity, as the bread 1 have then getting is very bad, and calculated to try the dige five organs of a rhinoceros. We are paying a pretty st.ff price for bread, and I think should get toe best. It seems to me the poorest quality of flour is being used.—l am &c.. Householder.
[We have ascertained from the bakers that they know they arc- using flour that is made from 4> sprung wheat,” but they say they cannot help themselves, as they have to make use of what they can get at the present time. This unsatisfactory condition of affairs will only last for a few days longer, as arrangements have been made to get a supply of flour from Auckland.— Ed. Ex.]
