The Irish Land Bill.

- « London, June 30. The progress of the Land Bill is slow. The Hon. G. Wyndham refused to discuss Mr O'Donnell’s suggestion that peasants be allotted five acres each, though he promised to consider their position. Mr Wm. O’Brien moved to empower the Commissioners to arrange for the restoration of evicted tenants. Colonel the Eight Hon. E. J. Saunderson declared that hopeless social confusion would result from an attempt to restore 40,000 peasants. The Hon. G. Wyndham declined to give a peremptory direction to the Commissioners, but allowed them a wide discretion with regard to reinstating peasants and providing capital to re-stock their holdings. The amendment was withdrawn.
