The Deceased "Wife’s Sisters Bill passed through the Grand Committee after nine exciting sittings.
At Hawera on Tuesday last Mr H. J. Godfrey, of Woodville, was united in matrimony to Miss Annie Hutton, daughter of Mr T. Hutton, of Hawera. We understand the Cemetery Trustees met yesterday, and on enquiry into the circumstances of the matter reported on by Or Redwood, decided to ask the sexton to resign.
A smart piece of, work was done by Mr Latham, the Woodville Land Agent. Mr Cameron sold bis property through the agency to a gentleman who from unforeseen circumstances cou!d|not complete the purchase. This was known on Monday Blast. Yesterday Mr Latham had three'clients over from Wairarapa, Manawatu, and Taranaki, and the first ,to see the property (Mr James Murray), purchased it. It was a case of first come, first served.
