Kennedy, the Mesmerist.
Local players will learn with pleasure of the approaching visit of the distinguished mesmeric entertainer, who so recently created a perfect furore in Wellington. We refer to MrT. A. Kennedy, who is passing through between Napier and Palmerston North, and will appear in the Alexandra Hall on Thursday evening next, the 19'h inst., when a bumper audience may bo fairly anticipated. Of bis remarkable entertainment tho Auckland Star says: —Mesmerism is synonymous with mystery; in fact medical men have owned their inability to solve its dread influence, but its insiduous side Ins been can fully cloaked by the aptitude of tho Professor who keeps the attention of his audience rivetted on the antics of bis tractable subjects. By the application of bis band and a sesame of speech, tho character undergoes complete transformation, and whilst acting according to his dictates their earnestness of intentb n dispels the idea of collusion. The box plan is now open at Mr C. Hall’s, where seats maybe secured, and since country patronage is promised on a large scale, intending patrons would do well to secure their teals at once.
