The War in Abyssinia.
Rome, March 10. General Baidissera, the new Commander-in Chief of the Italian army in Abyssinia, states that the fate of 7000 of those who took part in the recent disastrous engagement with the Shoans is unknown, Berein, March 11. The North German Gazette, in an inspired article, declares that the Italian reversals in Abyssinia will not affect Italy’s position in tho i Triple Alliance. Rome, March 11. News has been received that tho ' Shoans had 4000 killed aud GOOO wounded in the recent battles. j The feeling is growing throughout Italy that the withdrawal of Italy from Abyssinia is impossible. Another despatch contains news that a force of 10,000 Dervishers is in the vicinity of Kassala. Sydney, March 11. The Italian Society has cabled to 1 King Humbert regretting the g lefcats, and entreating that the I rational honour be vindicated at any t :ost. -y
