During the evening refreshments were handed round, and the company dispersed at 11 o'olock after having spent a most enjoyable evening. The Salvation Army Guard Band, which is visiting Woodville on Saturday next, will introduce some new and original pieces. One of the Company is spoken of as quite clever in producing " Home, Sweet Home " on a gum leaf, and another one " After the War " on a popgun. " Tho Gospel Bells," by a company of ten, is one of the choicest pieces. The drummer will introduce a novelty in the shape of double sticks, and his playing is pronounced tho best minipulating seen in New Zealand. The Band is under tho leadership of Captain Ebby Jackson, an old New Zealand boy, who learnt to play in Oamaru. No doubt the Alexandra Hall will be crowded to see and hear these clever folk. That the public of Woodville appreciate good value for their money, is daily proved by the large number of customers who visit To Aro House Branch intent upon securing some of the many bargains now being offered there.
