Chess Match.
WOODVILLE V. MARTON. On Saturday a telegraph chess match was played between Marton and Woodville Clubs, and p: oved a very enjoyable contest. Thanks to the operator, Mr Allen, everything passed off well. At the close o£ the night’s play, only one game was finished, namely, board G, where Mr Manisty, who had played a very vigorous game all through, obtained an overwhelming attack, and his opponent, Mr Burton, gracefully resigned. The other seven games are to be referred to the Hon. John Bryce, who has consented to act as adjudicator.
