Refreshments were libera ly provided by Mesdames Youd, T. Hewitt, Little and Wright, and the Misses Collingo. The members of commi tee, Messrs Collison, Tipping, You i and Little did their utmost to provide enter'tiimncnt for the children and were ably assisted in their efforts by Mr Jones, the teacher. One of the most exciting events of the day's programme was the Married Women’s race, wonlby Mrs Voitcetvosky. Rain fell in the early part of the day but an adjournment was made to the schoolroom. A most enjoyable day was spent. THE CONCERT. In the evening the school was crowded for the concert, which had as its object the raising of funds for the school prizes. The concert went off well and was exceptionally good. The following programme was gone through :—Overture, piano, Miss M. Collinge; song, “ The Fisherman and his Child," Mrs Lynch; reading, Mr Haggcn; glee, “ Fairy Revels,” Mr Hall and family, who had to respond to a most hearty encore ; song, “ Tell Her I love Her so,” Mr W. Bickerton ; song, “ Never More,” Mrs Youd; Round, .Senior Schoolgirls which was very creditable, to the training of tho teacher; song, “Once Again," Miss Collinge; comic song, “ McCarthy," by Mr Turner, who had to respond to a hearty recall, Second part; Selection (flute and piano) Mr and Miss L. Hall; song, “ After Sundown,” Miss Hall; recita'ion from“Haiwatha,” Mrs Lynch; song, “Three Fishers Went Sailing,” Miss M. Colingo; comic song, Mr Wakeman, who had to re-appear ; glee, “Night, Lonely Niglu," by Mr Hall and family; song, “ Man the Lifeboat, Mr W. Bickerton; duet, “ Over the Summer Sea,” Misses Collinge; part song, Mrs Youd, Misses Collinge, Messrs Jones and Y'oud (2); comic song “ Killaloo,” Mr Turner. On the motion of Mr Little, seconded by Mr Tipping, hearty votes of thanks were accorded to those who had taken part in the entertainment, and to.ilie Chairman. Three cheers were given for the Kumeroa School Committee.

The hall was then cleared for dancing. Refreshments were again provided in liberal style by the ladies. Mrs W. Bickerton rendered valuable aid in the concert as accompanyist, and accompaniments were also taken by Mrs Gregorv. Misses Collinge and L. Hall. All sc-iiied to enjoy the gathering thoroughly, and the Committee are to be congratulated on having organised so successful a gathering. Mrs Gregory kindly lent her piano for the occasion.
