Visitors’ Handicap, of 15 sovs, second horse to receive 21 sovs from stakes; Nomination sa, acceptance 10s. Distance 5 furlongs. To start at 2.15 p.m. 5. Pohangina Handicap, 0f23 sovs, second horse xo receive 3 sovs from the stakes; Nomination Bs, acceptance 15s. Distance 1 mile. To start at 3 p.m. 6. Scurry Stakes Handicap, of 10 sovs, to the winner; Nomination ss, acceptance ss. Distance 1 mile. To start at 3.45 p.m. 7. Stewards’ St.-.kes Handicap, of 22 sovs, second horse to receive 2 sovs from stakes; Nomination ss, acceptance 10s. Distance If miles. The winner of the Gorge Handicap to carry a penalty of 71bs; of the Pohangina Handicap a penalty of Gibs, or of both a penalty of 141bs. To start at 4.30 p.m. Nominations for all races close with the Secretary, Ashurst, on Saturday, December sth, 1891, at 8 p.m. ■ Weights will be declared on Friday, December 11, 1891. Acceptances close on Friday, December 18th, at 8 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. No entry will be received for any race except upon this condition: —That all disputes, claims, and objections arising, out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the stewards, or those they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. 2. All entries to be sea'ed and addressed to the Secretary, Ashurst. Entrance money, enclosed with name, age at the time of entry, pedigree and performances of horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. Any jockey riding, except in the colors entered, will be fined 3 sovs. 3. When two or more horses start (the property of the same owner) a distinguishing color must be worn. 4. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half-hour before the advertised time of starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 5 sovs to the race fund. 5. All races to be run under the W.J.O. rules. 6. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. 7. All horses to run in colors. 8. Horses who have won a race of the value of -t‘2o or over, after declaration of weights, to carry a penalty of 51bs ; of L‘3s or over, a penalty of lOlbs. 9.
