The Examiner (PUBLISHED DAILY.) THURSDAY. NOV. 26, 1891. THE ESTATES COMPANY.
We are right glad to see that the Estates Company are beginning in real earnest the work of realising the Bank of New Zealand properties. There is no better time for this than the present, hut the Company should not coniine their present operations to the South Island. There is the Mangatoro estate in this district which should be an easily realisable property if subdivided and sold in areas from 800 acres to 2000 acres. The demand for land in the district is groat and if the Company could put their interest in this property in the market it would help to supply the want while the Bank would be regarded as doing a good thing in aiding the settlement of the district instead of keeping it locked up as at present. The settlement of Mangatoro would prove a grand aid to Danevirke.
