Wellington Land Board.
'Special to The Examiner.)
Wellington, This Day. A letter from Mr Haggen in reference to Hartstone’s application for title was read by Mr Hogg before the Land Board to-day. The ranger’s report was to the effect that the required improvements had not been made. The letter stated that far more than the necessary value had been put on the land. It was resolved to refer the representations to the ranger for his report, and require a prompt reply, so that application for title may be considered at special meeting on Dec. 17th. Messrs Hogg and McCardle commented strongly on the absurdly low values placed by rangers on the improvements of settlers. The Commissioner expressed the opinion that a full and liberal allowance should-be made for everything, and it was decided to issue instructions to rangers to carefully and amply consider every kind of outlay in forming future estimates of this kind.
