The Inspector visited the school on Monday last and made the following entry in the log-book ; “ I visited the school to-day, when 122 were in attendance. The cause of the ’small attendance was in consequence of rain which fell heavily during the morning, the work is being .methodically carried on, the discipline is very good and the management is quite satisfactory. The additions recently made will be sufficient for the wants of the district for some time to come.” In reference to awarding prizes Mr Morton added; In regard to my refusal to act with Mr Motley in awarding the further prizes ordered by committee, I gave my reasons in my letter to him as secretary- I think the committee should taka that responsibility as representing the parents, and thus leave the teachers free of charges of parti, ality in the matter. I gave every facility to Mr Motley, who took the whole responsibility of awarding the books. As in this case I shall always be glad to assist in choosing the books and entering the names of prize-takers. As this is my last report before the election of the ne.v committee, I beg to tender to the members of the present one, on behalf of the teachers, onr best thanks for the careful and successful manner in whieh the general affairs of the school have been carried on.
