A very interesting addition has just been made to the Zoological Gardens in London. Gn May 27th, Major Prank Graves, of the 20ih 1 lussms, wrote from Cairo, offering to the society a pure white camel, lwo-aiid-a-half years old, just broken to saddle, and quiet, The camel was captured by him at the battle of Hashcen. Says the New Zealand Mail ;—As tho question of opening up a trade with South America is attraciing a good deal of attention in New Zealand, the following extract from a private letter which has courteously been plaeed at our disposal, will bo read with much interest. Messrs Wilson and Sons, Limited, the agents for the New Zealand S| .-am Shipping Company and the New Zealand Loan and Moreau;de Company, were very obliging, and gave me much information relative to lite mode of doing bu.dne-s m Bio, tho port charges, rights of property, kv., Ac., and 1 bad many conversations with others engaged in lui .is:e but Caine to tin. conclusion tb.’.t there v.T. ; very little to be done in New Zealand produce.
