Sports Meeting.

A public meeting for the purpose of electing a new committee to carry out the annual Woodville Bports, wai held at the Club Hotel, Woodville, on Saturday evening last, when there were some twenty persons present. In the absence of the chairman, T. F. Fountain*, Esq., Mr Ohamier was voted to the chair, and haring read the advertisement from the Ex am inb r convening the meeting, and the previous minutes, be reported from the Treasurer’s statement, what the sum of £2 14s 6J, was in hand from last year’s sports. Mr Jackson move!, and Mr W. Smith seconded, that a committee of nine be elected to carry out the sports. Mr J. Hutchins thought nine rather a small number after appointing all officers therefrom.

Mr Sinclair pointed out that the secretary and treasurer were ex-officio members. The motion was then oar* ried. The following committee wore then elected from the meeting:—Messrs Hull, Jackson, Murray, Sinclair, Harrison, Oriulinton, W. Smith, Lidbolm,and Simmons. Mr Harrison enquired as to whether a suitable ground had been secured, when it was resolved to ask Mr Chalmers for the use of h : s paddock for the purpose. The meeting then adjourned.
