The Railway Department .does not pledg itself to the dispatch or arrival of the Train a t the exact times notified in the above ables.and in the event of any cireumstanoes arioing either during or prior to the journey being made, which may render it impossible or inexpedient for a train to proceed, will re* ( turn the Fares paid, but dors not undertake to forward the passengers., . Luggage —Each passenger is allowed to take ll2lbs of Personal luggage free (not including merchandise of any kind) and for every 56Iba above this weight, and for fifty milos or fraction of fifty miles the charge will be one shilling. No luggage will be allowed to be taken into the carriages unless of such a sine that it can be placed under the seat without inconvenience to other passengers. Passengers are strongly recommended to have their names rod the station to which they are proceeding distinctly marked on their luggage, and to satisfy themselves that it is placed on the train, as the Railway Deartment will not be responsible unless it is ! booked and paid hr. Passengers can be booked at stations only on condition that there is rorm in the Train. Children under three years of age travel free ; ! above three and under twelve years of age half-fare. I

The Railway Department does not undertake to forward Horses and Carriages by any particular train ; but when sent they must be the forwarding station half-an-hour before the departure of the train. The owners of homes must provide means of securing them in the horse box, and the Railway Department will not be accountable for any injuries sustained through their breaking loose or otherwise, nor will it uuder ake to carry unbroken or vicious horses When Horse-boxes or trucks for carriages arc or dered a deposit of 5s must be paid, to be for frrfeitcd if the vehicle is not used. At courts try stations requisitions for horse-boxes or carriage trucks must be made the day before they are wanted. Dogs must be provided with chains or other means of securing them. They will not be allowed in carriages and the sender must obtain a ticket, to ba given up b e -f orc tbc end of the journey, before the dog ig delivered. Return or Periodical ticket* will not be available for special and excursion trains, except when the ordinary tiiu e -t a bi e is suspended. Return tickets for distances not exceeding twenty-live miles are available on, the day of issue only, for each additional twenty ■-five miles or fraction thereof, one day extra is allowed.
