According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the Postma-ter General of New South Wales has tdten action t ■> enable the public of that cwlo iy, as fir as practicable, to write their letters at the oflieial po-t and tele.raph offices througl oui tin colony, and a circular to postmasters, already in type, will shortly b? issued, from which the following is en exc r,>t:— “ it has been decided to permit you to allow any prr oa who miy so desire to make use of what accommodation y. u may be ab eto afford (it being under,-t md th -t the public are nob to have acre's to the office itsell) fir the ohje t of writing letters, and you will be allowed the option of supplying pan- r and envoi pes for t! e purpose at u-as nable charge, say aha f; ( nay lor a sheet of not piper, an 1 a like sura for an envelope.”
