A Novel Swindle.
A swindle of a novel kind Ins been perpetrat >d by a newspaper correspondent in Paris. This gentleman advertised in the Paris Papers that he had hired a well found st umer, which was going to make a month’s cru'se in the North Sen, and that he was preoared to accept 200 passengers at £2O each, this sum to include all board, l)dging, and travelling expenses for the four weeks. He was not long, thinks to the favorable notices in the Figiro and other complement, aod the 200 passengers, each of whim hal pud Lis £2O in advance ware conveyed by special train from Paris to Havre last Saturday afternoon. They (ound the ship waiting for them and went on board, but the newspaper man did not pat in an appearance, and the owner ot the vetsrl said he co dl not start until be and paid him for the ve'S’l. Telegrams were sent in all directions, but nothing could be hear 1 of him, and the unfortunate excursionists were compelled at last to leave t’’e vessel and r turn to their respective homes, the ingenious hi r er of the steamer having in the meanwhile got c ear away with something like £1.01).
