The most of the news is anticipated by the Gothenburg. ** London, December 28. The "Times"has an article comment* ing on the free trade policy of New South Wales as disclosed in the budget. It says that Sydney haß got the start of Victoria in the right direction, and anticipates that unless the protective policy of Victoria is speedily abandoned, Melbourne will be commercially outstripped.. This crucial experiment in the poUcicoeconornical history of the Australian . colonies is watched with universal interest, and the " Times" is of opinion that there is no doubt as to the result.
