Auckland, Tuesday. Mr Alexander Saunders reports : — Buyers of National Insurance, at 20s ; National Bank of New Zealand, 52s 6d ; South British, 45s ; Bank of New Zealand, £16 10s. Sellers of National Insurance, 21s ; National Bank, 54a ; South British, 47s 6d.
Williamson has nominated the following coalition Executive :— John Sheehan, Provincial Secretary ; G. M. Reed, Treasurer ; Andrew Beveridge, solicitor ; Patrick Dingan, member of the Executive without portfolio.
The Presbyterian General Assembly has considered a memorial from the Nelson Presbytery against steamers calling there on Sundays, and it was resolved that, while prepared to do all in their power to secure the observance of the Sabbath, they did not feel called upon to take any steps in the direction indicated.
The St Kilda made a preliminary trip round the harbor preparatory to the official trip.
Napier, Tuesday. Springhill station, containing 5800 acres, the property of the Hon John Johnston, was sold by auction to-day for £7500. Joseph Rhodes was the purchaser ; 5000 ewes were sold at 4a 6d per head.
Grahamstoytn, Tuesday. The Native Lands Court is proceeding. The attendance of natives is large. In the share market National Insurance shares show a slight advanoe. Mining stocks generally are depressed.
Nelson, Tuesday. There is great excitement here over the Supeiintendency election, which takes place to-morrow. O'Connor held a crowded meeting last night, over 600 persons being present. A vote of confidence was passed by 125 to 87. Curtis addressed the electors last night. Lyi'tblton, Tuesday. The Omeo leaves for Wellington at 10 p.m.
The blanche, yacht, sailed for Dunedin via Akaroa.

Arrived — Prima Donna, from Wangaroa.
Port Chalmers, Tuesday. Arrived — Emulous and Isabella, from Kaipara. Sailed — Wellington, for Lyttelton, at 6.30 p.m. .
Dunedin, Tuesday. The Standard Fire and Marine Insurance Company invite the services of a manager. At a meeting last night of the directors it was stated that a considerable number of shares had been applied for in the North Island, and 14,000 in Otago. At a meeting of the City Council last night, it was resolved to call a public meeting on the subject of drainage. The Customs here have resolved to engage the services of a few well-educated youths as cadets.
A few families ex Jessie Readman and Zelandia are still unengaged at the Barracks.
Large quantities of wool are coming into Dunedin.
In the case of the lessees of the Princess Theatre v. Tilly Andrews and Simmons, for breach of agreement, judgment was given for the plaintiffs for £7. The prospectus has been issued of the Otago Hemp and Rope Company. The capital is £1500, in three hundred £5 shares.
The mail via Sydney and San Francisco, which closed here to-day, was not much availed of, The submarine boat for gold working has been launched.
