WELLINGTON RACES.
TO THE EDITOR OP THE INDEPENDENT. ■ Sir, — I suppose it is a fact that there must be a Wellington Jockey Club if our annual races are to continue to prospei*, but there would seem to be more trouble to prop up the old club than to get up the races. I am not going to propose a new club— far from it ; but I shotild like to see some new members join in. This would put vitality into the old institution. — I am, &c, A Subscriber to the Races. September 4th.
