Tallow has improved. Sydney oil, £27 to £31. Copper, £90 to £92. Tin, £135. The Calowell Quartz Company is announced, with a capital of £100,000. Wool has slightly declined. Foreign orders are slack. The Antwerp sales were opened on the sth, and showed a penny advance. Balme and Co report combing sorts twopence to threepence above the price paid at the close of the last series. .Clothing wool is a penny to three-halfpence better. Lambs' wool is a shfde dearer. Cross-bred is unchanged. Fifty thousand bales remain unsold. The I sales close on the 16th. The Australian Brindisi Mail was delivered on the sfch. 1 The China, from Australia, arrived at Galle on the 6th. The steamship Northumberland has arrived. __________________
