The Directors of this Company have succeeded in purchasing the freehold of two valuable tracts of land in the Wharekawa district, Province of Auckland. The Company has for its object the develop* ! ing to the greatest possible advantage the Coal and other Minerals known to exist thereon, as also the construction and using of a Rail or Iramwayun the vicinity thereof. , The freehold consists of 12,880 acres, or considerably more than 19 square miles, in addition to which other valuable , leasehold rights have been secured, with a view to enhancing the value of the Company's property. It is situated close to the Surrey Redoubt, nearly opposite the Thames and Coromandel Gold Fields, and is distant only about 10 miles from Grahanistown and Shortland. ' A navigable creek is on the property. The quality of the coal (as per reports appended to the prospectup), is excellent, and being free from sulphur, will doubtless be largely used for household purposes. Ironstone of rioh quality, timber and flax in abundance, are on the Company's estate.
