Tenders will be received at the office of the Wellington Mutual Investment Society, Wellington, up to noon on the 27th February next, for the purchase of the following Debentures of the Corporation of the City of Wellington, viz : — 30 of £500 each £15,000 45 of £100 each 4,500 10 of £50 each 500 Total £20,000 These debentures are issued under authority of the Wellington Reclaimed Land Act, 1871, sections 15 to 20, and bear interest at the rute of 7i per cent per annum, pnyable hulf yearly until Ist December, 1878. Tenderers are required to state the amount a»d the value of the particular Debentures they D)ay desire to take. A minimum price will be placed in a sealed envelope prior to tho opening of the tenders. Tenders will be opened in the presence of such of the tenderers as may choose to attend. Teems : — Should tenders be received at or above the minimum price for more than £20.000, the Debentures will be allotted as follows, viz : — No. 1. The highest tenders will be first satisfied, preference being further given to the largest sums contained in any individual tender. No. 2, Tenders not included under clause No 1 will be satisfied pro rata, so far as can be done consistent with the amounts of the several Debentures. No. 3. — Payment to be made as follows, viz : Ten per cent on allotment, and balance in cash with accrued interest on the Ist May, when the debentures will be delivered. WILLIAM ALLEN, Manager. The Trustees of the Otago Graving Dock invite tenders for Mortgage Bonds to the amount of £10,000 (in £100 bonds), to be issued under the authority of " The Otago Dock Trust Debt Act, 1872." Tenders will be received till noon on Thurfday. February 20lh, 1873. and may be for the whole or v portion of the sum, but the trustees do not bind themselves to accept the highest or any tender. These bonds will have a currency of thirty yeais from the d»te of issuo j will bear interest at the rate of 6 per cent, per annum, and interest and principal will be made payable in Dunedin, or in London, Melbourne, or Sydney, at the option of the purchasers. After Ist November, 1878, they will form a fiist charge on the property and income of the Trust. Of the first issue of bonds, £36,200 have been redeemed by the Colonial Treasurer, in accordance with the terms of the Defence and Other Purposes Loan Act, 1870 ; for the remainder of liability under that issue, the funds have also been raised under that Act, and are in the hands of tho Colonial Treasurer. The liability of " The Trust" in respect of these bonds is therefore only nominal. Further information and copies of the Act may be obtained from the chairman, R. B. IN compliance with recommendations contained in the Reports of the Flax Commission Committee, and of the Joint Committee on Colonial Industries, to the effect that " premiums not exceeding in tho wholo £500 should be granted for the encouragement of Sericiculture in the Colony," and that the development of certain industrial pursuits would often bo best promoted by the offer of a bonus on production, the following Rewards are offered, subject to tke under-mentioned conditions : — A bonus of 50 per cent, on the value realized is offered for the production of the first £1000 worth of cocoons of the Silkworm 01 eggs of the Silkworm produced in the Colony, to be paid on quantities of not less value than £50 or more than £100 produced by any one person. To any person or persons who shall manufacture, within the Colony, from Now Zealand flax— For the first 500 reams of Printing Paper, a sum of £400 ; and a further sum of £250 for

the first 500 reams of Packing Paper; and the like sum for the first 10,000 yards of Scrimcloth Buitable for covering flax bales. Conditions. Tha required quantity of each article to be completed before the 30th June, 1872. The weight of each ream of printing paper to be not less than 30 lbs., of each roam of packing paper not less than 40 lbs., and of each piece of scries- cloth of 100 yards in length and double width, not less than 30 lbs. The rewards will be paid on the certificate of an officer to be appointed by the Government that the above conditions have been complied with. W. GISBORNE. IN compliance with the recommendation contained in the Eeport of the Joint Committee on Colonial Indue tries, 1871, to the effect that a bonus of £2500 should be offered for the first 100 tons of Printing Paper produced by machinery, such bonus to be in addition to any that may be offered by any province, it is hereby notified that such reward will be paid on the fulfilment of the following Conditions. The paper to be manufactured in New Zealand, l3j| machinery permanently established and working in the colony. The required quantity to bo completed before the 30th June, 1874.
